our people + planet

Being raised by an amazing mother who was way ahead of her time when it came to being a conscious, kind and environmentally responsible human is why we are committed to doing our part:

- Our shipping packaging is compostable or fully recyclable

- We offer you the option to have your items shipped in a gently pre-used box wherever possible

- Every purchase of a Colored Organics item helps a child in need. They partner with reputable organizations worldwide to make a positive impact in the lives of children.

capsule wardrobes

Our focus is on quality, sustainability and longevity. Our clothes are the basis for a capsule wardrobe - clothes that can be mixed and matched to maximize the number of outfits you can create. Minimalist prints and neutral colours increase the versatility of the clothes and extend their longevity. The high quality of each piece ensures that clothes can be worn often, reworn by siblings, passed on to friends or family, or donated.

Sustainability

The majority of the products we carry are made with sustainable materials such as organic cotton or bamboo.

Organic cotton is grown without the use of synthetic pesticides or fertilizers, which is better for the farmers, for our planet, and for your family. It doesn't damage the soil and is produced using significantly less water and energy. It's soft and hypoallergenic.

Bamboo is one of the most renewable resources in the world. It naturally replenishes itself and releases more oxygen than trees. Clothes made using bamboo are incredibly soft, lightweight, naturally breatheable, moisture wicking, anti-bacterial, hypoallergenic and temperature regulating.

We acknowledge that we are by no means perfectly sustainable, but we are committed to striving to be better. We try our best to be conscious of the environment in everything we do.

Ethical manufacturing

We carry products that are made in Canada or produced ethically in factories that ensure a safe work environment, offer fair wages, cap working hours and do not employ child labour.

diversity, equity & inclusion

We are a business that values and promotes diversity, equity and inclusion as we believe our vendors and customers should be supported, represented, and celebrated.

We are proud to prioritize carrying brands from small, local, female-owned and minority-owned businesses.

We are proud allies and advocates of the LGBTQ2S+ community.

We are privileged to operate from Tkaronto, also known as Toronto, the traditional territory of many nations including the Mississaugas of the Credit, the Anishnabeg, the Chippewa, the Haudenosaunee and the Wendat peoples which is now home to many diverse First Nations, Inuit and Métis peoples. We also acknowledge that Toronto is covered by Treaty 13 signed with the Mississaugas of the Credit, and the Williams Treaties signed with multiple Mississaugas and Chippewa bands.
